The road trip, a classic American summer tradition, is back in business. It’s a good time to get your motor running and kick your highway journey into high gear with a playlist guaranteed to keep you and your travel buddies in good spirits.
Now the question is…do you lean toward classic favorites like Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run or Prince’s Little Red Corvette? A Google search offers lists ranging from top 10 to top 100 from which you can compile your own favorites or refresh an existing playlist.
How important is a road trip playlist?
Of the 2,000 recently surveyed Americans, 35 percent said they’d make a U-turn if “they didn’t have everything needed to jam out to their favorite music choices.” Respondents also said that a playlist may be the ultimate “make-or-break” essential for a successful road trip.
Folks seem to take their playlists seriously.
Survey results showed that generations typically disagree about what tunes make the cut with 42 percent disliking their parents’ choices. Only 10 percent were interested in hearing an entire album and more than half of the millennials believe their playlist-making skills are superior to other generations.
Sounds like people are ready to roll down their windows and crank up the volume because 78 percent feel comfortable taking a road trip in the coming months.
