Did we miss the big day?

Looks like we missed Valentine’s Day, but is it just a one-day event? Like birthdays, we feel that’s not enough.

When it comes to celebrating love, we’d like to think it’s an everyday event. However, we do agree that a special “love-centric” day is worth remembering. According to the stats, we’re in plenty of company. An estimated 145 million Valentine’s Day cards are sent each year, and while candy and flowers are the most popular gifts, people spent a whopping $5.8 billion on jewelry in 2020.

We didn’t want to miss out sending you a little Valentine’s day greeting, so we’re honoring the day after Hearts Day with a few quick stories we think have LOVE written all over them.

  • Dave Neuman has a day job, yet you’re more likely to love what his camera captures during his lunch break. It’s a very up close and personal story
  • Across the pond, your heart will melt when you see how nursing home residents recreate famous portraits from history. Think American Gothic and take a look
  • You’ll be smiling along with Goldie when you read a most unusual story about her much-needed dental work. Who’s Goldie? Surprise!

Today’s love note concludes with this thought by Franklin P. Jones: “Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.“
