Be curious and take a quick peek
What do Uber, a zoo and paper planes have in common? Nothing really. We just thought you’d get a kick out of these light-hearted stories.
Uber lost and found
It makes sense for riders to leave a phone, wallet or keys in an Uber car. How about forgetting an ankle monitor, a slushy machine or light saber? Or not realizing a Gucci loafer was missing? Maybe it was 11 P.M. when people most often leave things behind. The most forgetful cities plus retrieval information are also included in Uber’s seventh annual report.
Zany side hustle at the zoo?
Other than the long commute to Lancashire, England, if you’ve always wanted to give Big Bird a run for its money, the Blackpool Zoo is looking for five folks eager to dress like a giant bird and chase away the seagulls. Seriously the birds just can’t seem to resist stealing food from visitors and animals. Video is a must-see.
Paper plane scores touchdown
Well almost. A combination of origami, research, passion and engineering skills enabled three Boeing employees to design a paper plane that broke the Guinness book of records for distance flown—289 feet, 9 inches—nearly the length of a football field. They nailed the feat in three tries after 500 hours of prep. Check out their brilliant strategy.
